CBT

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is a widely tested, effective therapy that works with how our thoughts, feelings and behaviour interact with each other. It is an active, structured, problem solving and collaborative approach.

We may look at how your earlier life experiences affect your current problems if we agree this is helpful. However CBT tends to focus more on what is happening here and now in your life. We work together to understand what is getting in the way of you achieving your goals. We develop skills and strategies, alongside activities and experiments you feel able to undertake to find out what can help you feel better moving forwards. We will address how to ensure any gains are maintained following the end of therapy.
